17 February, employees of the Nizhny Novgorod regional public organization of persons with disabilities “Invatur” held an information seminar for people with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities of the Gorodets district. The event was organized in close partnership with the Gorodets city organization of VOI and was held in the central district library.
At the beginning of the seminar, the head of the Gorodets city organization of VOI Albina Valentinovna Shishkina and the chairman of NROOI made an introductory speech “Invatur” Rafik Roganyan. Further, the organization’s lawyer Dmitry Balykin spoke about the most significant legislative changes., concerning the lives of people with disabilities and having entered into force since the beginning of this year. In particular, these include changes, entered into criteria and classifications, used by institutions of medical and social expertise in determining disability, new forms and procedures for implementing an individual rehabilitation or habilitation program for a disabled person (disabled child), as well as the prohibition of discrimination on the basis of disability and innovation that appeared in federal law, regarding the creation and functioning of an accessible environment. Based on participants' requests, particular attention was paid to the appeal procedure of decisions of ITU institutions, as well as questions of providing disabled people with technical rehabilitation.
The seminar was attended by 16 man. These are people with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities.. Most of them took an active part in the event., asked your questions, commented on what they heard and shared their own experiences. All participants received a set of handouts, which included reference manuals, published by NROOI “Invatur” and ROOI “perspective”.
