Passenger aerial gondola-type cable car between the cities of Nizhny Novgorod and Bor across the Volga River was put into operation in February 2012 of the year. The Nizhny Novgorod ropeway has become not only a unique engineering structure, but also the first in Russia transport cable car, which connected two cities, passing over a navigable river, and entered the top attractions of Nizhny Novgorod.

Moscow railway station, located in Nizhny Novgorod is one of the largest railway stations in Russia and a transport link of the Gorky railway. The station is designed to simultaneously serve about four thousand people for long-distance routes and more than a thousand people for suburban routes. The annual passenger traffic of the Moscow railway station is 7 million people.
