Church of the Transfiguration
Stone parish church, the four-altar was built and originally consecrated in 1794 year. During the years of theomachy, the temple was closed (1939-42g.). After the return of the temple of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese, restoration work began, regular services resumed. The main throne - in honor of the transformation of the Lord (19 August), the second - in honor of St.. Nicholas the Wonderworker (22 may, 19 December), the third - in honor of St.. Ap. John the Evangelist (21 may, 9 October), fourth - in honor of St.. Prp. Josaph prince of India (2 December) (consecrated by Archbishop Sergius (Grishin) in 1943 year). The temple is in place, where before (in the XIV-XVI centuries.) Pechersky Ascension Monastery was located.

Transfiguration Church
Spaso-Preobrazhenskaya (Karpovskaya) the church rises on the left bank of the Oka g. Nizhny Novgorod. This is one of the three temples in Nizhny Novgorod, where services continued during the period of persecution of the Church. The Transfiguration Church was once a parish church in the village of Karpovka, which was located along the road to the Nizhny Novgorod Makaryevskaya fair.
