Sports and rehabilitation camp "Center for the active life"Is a complex of training and educational activities, aimed at obtaining practical skills for a fulfilling life in a wheelchair. The camp is trained 15 cadets, the experience of disability which does not matter, under the guidance of experienced trainers, who use wheelchairs themselves (peer to peer method), help is provided by volunteers.
The most basic effect of being in a camp is that, that cadets see in practice positive examples of a fulfilling life, communicate with para-athletes, disabled businessmen, with people, which, being in a wheelchair, created (or saved) family, gave birth to a child. Such communication inspires and gives a positive impetus for development for many years to come.. In humans, trained in a sports and rehabilitation camp, there is a reassessment of life positions, what stimulates them to live independently and people get a powerful emotional boost, what sets them up for an active lifestyle: get education, work, do business, sports, create families and raise children, expand your circle of communication, find new faithful friends!

Sports and rehabilitation camp "Center for Active Life" – это интенсивный курс практических и теоретических занятий для людей, injured in the spine and spinal cord and therefore use a wheelchair. The main teachers-teachers throughout the race are instructors-trainers, who move themselves in wheelchairs.
In every camp a group of volunteers (from 5 to 7 man), usually they are specialists in physical rehabilitation, medical staff, psychologists, social workers, teachers and other professionals. Average age of volunteers from 18 to 40 years old.
Camp takes place in the summer at the sports center "Borsky", where the Uruguay national football team was based during the World Cup 2018.
The task of the volunteers: preparation of places for classes, insurance of participants during exercise and sports, home help.
Before the start of the camp, a training seminar is held on the psychological and moral aspects of a volunteer's work with people with disabilities, on the technique and methods of moving a person in a wheelchair, safe ways of insurance during classes and at home.
Working at the camp is a great opportunity to gain experience working with people with disabilities, make new interesting acquaintances, spend time actively and usefully. At the end camps every volunteer receives a commendation.
The expenses for accommodation and meals during the event are provided by the organizers for you absolutely free of charge!
