Conference “Sports without barriers”

In the sports and recreation complex "Yunost" 24 November 2022 year a conference was held on the topic "Opportunities for the development of adaptive sports in Nizhny Novgorod".

The organizer of the event is the Nizhny Novgorod public organization of the disabled "Invatur". The goal is to discuss topical issues of ensuring the rights of people with disabilities to adaptive physical education and parasport, expansion of existing opportunities, organization of intersectoral cooperation in this direction.

The conference was attended by representatives of authorities, sports and rehabilitation specialists, educational institutions teachers, paraathletes, activists of non-profit organizations, only about 40 man.

Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Administration of Nizhny Novgorod Sergey Nizyaev spoke about the existing opportunities for parasports. Igor Mikhaylushkin, consultant to the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, noted, that the protection of the rights of people with disabilities to engage in physical culture and sports requires special attention.

Guests from the city of Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region, were invited to participate in the panel discussion. Heads of municipal sports schools Sergey Zybov and Nika Papava spoke about their work experience, and the head of the department of adaptive physical culture of the MAU SSHOR "City of Sports" Mikhail Chetvertakov shared his experience of interaction with the Dzerzhinsky public organization of the disabled “A paraglider”.

Vyacheslav Orinchuk, Head of the Department of Physical Education of the National Research University - a branch of the RANEPA, shared his experience in holding a regional student festival of adaptive sports.

Conference theme, the speeches made sparked a lively discussion among the participants, with rich experience in this field. Resolution adopted, which made recommendations, in particular:
– explore the possibility of creating departments for adaptive physical culture on the basis of existing sports schools;

– invite the Civic Chamber of the city of Nizhny Novgorod to include in the work plan of the event, contributing to the development of adaptive physical culture;

– recommend that the heads of city sports institutions, when planning activities in the field of creating an accessible environment, interact with public associations of the disabled;

We Express Hope. that the recommendations will be taken into account and taken into account in further work in the development of adaptive sports in Nizhny Novgorod.
