A sports and rehabilitation camp for training in the use of a wheelchair was opened in the Nizhny Novgorod region
The camp was organized with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund, reports the press service of the regional government.
28 June 2021 года в Нижегородской области открылся выездной спортивно-реабилитационный лагерь по обучению пользованию активной инвалидной коляской “Center for the active life”. Он создан в рамках проекта “School of active life”, supported by the Presidential Grants Fund”. The camp is annually organized by a regional public organization “Invatur”.
В спортивный центр “Academy 52” приехали ребята с инвалидностью, wishing to learn how to use an active wheelchair, independent living skills. The program includes activities for comprehensive social rehabilitation, work with a psychologist, lawyer consulting, practicing adaptive sports: barrel, trail orientation, laser biathlon on wheelchairs.
“The guys have arrived, to learn to move confidently and safely, overcome obstacles. I myself move in a wheelchair and I know, how important it is for an independent active life”, — сказала начальник лагеря Анастасия Дружинина.
“At the sports center “Academy 52″, built for the World Cup, conditions for living and training wheelchair athletes have been created. Hopefully, that one of the guys, newcomers to the camp, найдет себя в параспорте”, — отметил заместитель председателя НРООИ “Invatur” Ivan Konovalov.
