Open training on learning to use “active” wheelchair took place in the Nizhny Novgorod region at the sports center “Борский”
Nizhny Novgorod. 25 september. NTA-Volga region - In the sports center “Борский” 15 молодых людей с инвалидностью проходят обучение пользованию так называемой “active” wheelchair and independent living skills.
In a programme: training in safe movement in an active wheelchair and overcoming obstacles, adaptive sports competitions, trainings, relaxation and communication in nature.
Trainers move themselves in a wheelchair, have rich life experience in overcoming barriers. The camp is held as part of the project “Mobilization”, supported by the Presidential Grants Fund.
According to the organization “Invatur”, 24 сентября состоялась открытая тренировка, to which representatives of the authorities were invited, specialists from social and medical institutions, mass media.
Among the honored guests of the event is the Deputy Minister of Social Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Sergey Klementyev, Deputy Governor of the Regional Social Insurance Fund Nikolay Sokolov, Director of the Center for Employment of the City. Bor Natalia Lavrina, Deputy Director of GAU NO “Sports training center” Vitaly Karasev, Special Representative in the Volga Federal District of the Department for Interaction with the Regions of the Civil Code “Rosatom” Roman Skudnyakov.
The guests could see the training process on simulators, chat with the guys, evaluate the infrastructure of the sports center, adapted for people with disabilities.
