Inclusive sports a green light
- Paul, sports fans have been looking forward to the European orienteering championship, which was supposed to take place in August in Nizhny Novgorod. Alas…
- Since an unfavorable epidemiological situation has developed due to covid, The International Orienteering Federation has decided to cancel the European Championship. Although we were ready to host the competition: together with the ministry of sports, the federation has done a great job. But the preparation will not go unnoticed: we still have equipped landfills, which will serve for the development of Nizhny Novgorod, Russian orienteering. Several All-Russian starts are planned for the next two years in Nizhny Novgorod, including championships, national championship. So, in February, near the village of Dubravny, the Russian ski orienteering championship will be held.
- The Nizhny Novgorod region has received orienteers from all over the country more than once this year.
- Yes, in February in Shatki took place the championship and the championship of Russia in orienteering skiing. In May, Dzerzhinsk hosted the Russian Cycling Orientation Cup. In June, the championship and championship of the Volga Federal District took place in Nizhny Novgorod, as well as the all-Russian competitions in cross disciplines "Volzhskie Prostory". There were all-Russian competitions in a new direction for us - inclusive: trail orienteering competitions were held in Dzerzhinsk.
- As far as I know, you generally began to actively promote sports for people with disabilities.
- For us it is very important. Now, on the basis of the sports school "Magnetic Arrow" in Dzerzhinsk, we constantly have a trail orientation department for wheelchair users, which was created with the support of the Nizhny Novgorod regional public organization "Invatur". The coach deals with the athletes, and they already have medals even of the international level.
- You have created a project for working with children, have hearing problems.
- Orienteering for the deaf is a Deaflympic sport. On the basis of the sports school no. 12 in Nizhny Novgorod we plan to open a department for children with hearing problems. Already, our coaches are collaborating with all schools, where do such children study. Hopefully, that as a result of this work, a group will be selected and we will be able to open a deaflympic department. In this endeavor, we are supported by the city department of physical culture and sports.. Funds are a good help, which we won with our project in the Presidential Grants Fund.
"Oka path" of friendship
- And you continue to work on your previous projects? Several years ago you launched a program to develop orienteering as a mass sport “Orienteering is easy, just one two three!».
- Of course, we continue to promote it. Near 30 districts already independently host competitions on the "Sports Labyrinth" project - this is the first stage of the program, very affordable competitions, which are easy to organize in the hall. By the way, just in time for the "Sports labyrinth" we plan to connect children with hearing problems. We also practice the second and third stages of our program: "From a sports labyrinth to school orientation", what is meant by orientation on school grounds, and "Forest Stadiums", where the Parks Cup is held - this is more 20 starts throughout the Nizhny Novgorod region.
- How was your festival "Okskaya Path" this year?, which is already known far beyond the borders of Nizhny Novgorod?
- Everything turned out very well. But due to the restrictions on the covid, we were able to invite not very many people to it., first of all our old friends. Nevertheless, over a thousand people visited our site in two days.. Pleasantly, that the festival this year has acquired a truly family format. There were many children, who had something to do: run, get to know sports tourism, build a route. The only thing, what bothered, - unstable epidemiological situation. You invest, invest, and a week before the start they can tell you, that nothing will happen at all. This is very exhausting for the team., takes a lot of resources. It's hard to plan for some kind of quality growth, when it is not known, what awaits you.
So happy, that Atomenergoproekt supported us with the festival. We won his grant competition, and there were enough funds, to rent a base for the festival, playgrounds, organize free activities for children.
– На «Окской тропе» можно было посетить музей ориентирования и туризма «Нижегородское ориентирование. Объединяя поколения».
– Это ещё один наш проект, который призван обобщить богатую историю нижегородского ориентирования. Было взято порядка 50 интервью у ведущих спортсменов, trainers, наших ветеранов, у людей, которые сыграли заметную роль в развитии нижегородского ориентирования. Мы поставили перед собой задачу найти связующие звенья между молодёжью и ветеранами. Итогом этой работы стало полноценное печатное издание, красочная книга объёмом в 200 страниц. Её изюминка – куар-коды, дающие ссылки на все видеоинтервью, которые размещены на сайте федерации. То есть в книге – квинтэссенция, а есть возможность ознакомиться с материалами более детально.
Я очень благодарен всем, кто принял участие в работе над этим проектом: у нас сложилась отличная команда. Большое спасибо ветеранам: они с большим энтузиазмом восприняли идею создать книгу. Скажу больше: план свой мы перевыполнили. Люди не просто давали интервью, а приносили свои трофеи, кубки, медали, какое-то раритетное оборудование, photos, видео – набралось всего на целую экспозицию! На больших соревнованиях мы выставляли её в специальном шатре. Теперь думаем, где найти помещение, чтобы разместить наш незапланированно появившийся музей.
В ожидании зимы
– Думаю, с годами экспонатов в нём ещё прибавится: ваши спортсмены практически со всех крупных соревнований привозят медали.
- Yes, радуют и взрослые, и юниоры. So, в августе чемпионка мира и Европы Светлана Миронова стала серебряным призёром Кубка мира в эстафете. Хорошие перспективы у Леонида Цветкова, Ивана Голубева, Александры Гулевских, Никиты Курносова, Екатерины Степановой. Леонид, Иван и Александра – велоориентировщики, Никита – бегун, Екатерина – лыжница. By the way, будет участвовать во Всемирной Универсиаде, которая в декабре пройдёт в Швейцарии. Все пятеро представляют наш Центр спортивной подготовки. Для федерации это огромный прорыв: до нынешнего года в ЦСП не было отделения спортивного ориентирования. Его открытие создаёт дополнительную мотивацию для наших воспитанников. I think, шансы со временем попасть в ЦСП есть у Ксении Пензиной, Марии Петрушко. Pleasantly, что в этом году сразу два наших спортсмена – Ксения Бесхмельнова и Павел Егоров – пробились в сборную России и выступили на первенстве Европы. Такого у нас не было уже 10 years old. Ксения завоевала бронзу в эстафете.
– В чём видите причины успехов?
– Разумеется, и спортсмены, и тренеры очень много работают. I think, большой плюс при подготовке к стартам дала поддержка со стороны регионального центра по выявлению талантливой молодёжи «Вега». Мы смогли провести ряд интенсивных сборов, свозить спортсменов на всероссийские соревнования.
– Что в ближайших планах?
– Зимний сезон – к нему ведётся активная подготовка. Лыжному ориентированию мы уделяем много внимания. Также на переднем плане – инклюзивное направление и студенческий спорт. На следующий год намечено создание национальной студенческой лиги, я вхожу в рабочую группу, которая решает связанные с этим вопросы.
Unfortunately, студенческому спорту уделяется мало внимания, и это очень плохо. Спортивным ориентированием в области охвачено примерно 6-7 тысяч детей, а когда они заканчивают занятия в кружках, спортивных школах и поступают в вузы, то практически все теряются. Сейчас тренер по спортивному ориентированию у нас работает только в одном университете. Hope, что в ближайшем будущем ситуация изменится.
