More visible information boards will appear in Nizhny Novgorod public transport. This was reported by the press service of the governor and the government of the region..
Earlier, representatives of public organizations of people with limited mobility presented their ideas for improving the transport system as part of the transport modernization reform in Nizhny Novgorod.
Dmitry Balykin, lawyer of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Organization of the Disabled "Invatur", noted, that drivers must undergo special instruction to interact with certain categories of citizens. They often make mistakes , without thinking about it, how they harm people with disabilities. As an example, Dmitry Balykin cited parking at stops in the second row. He also specified, that citizens with disabilities need more time to board and disembark, and drivers should take this into account.
Commissioner for Human Rights in the Nizhny Novgorod Region Oksana Kislitsyna suggested replacing the usual information boards in transport with more visible ones.
“As for the more visible information boards for people with limited mobility, design and regulations on them approved. The possibility of equipping them with public transport as a mandatory norm is being considered., – noted the deputy head of GKU NO "Center for the Development of Transport Systems" Dmitry Ryabushev. He added, that instructions for public transport drivers on servicing people with disabilities are already being prepared.
