Nizhny Novgorod residents opened a sports and rehabilitation camp, where people with disabilities are trained to be independent

An outdoor sports and rehabilitation camp "Center for Active Life" has opened in the Nizhny Novgorod region, which works with 15 by 25 september 2020 years in the sports center "Borsky". Its main task is to make people with disabilities more independent and, first of all, to teach how to use a wheelchair.

The camp was organized within the framework of the "Mobilization" project, which is implemented with a grant from the President of Russia. Dedicated to the development of civil society.

Active people with disabilities from both the Nizhny Novgorod region gathered to learn new things, and from other regions of Russia, who want to learn how to use an active wheelchair in particular and the skills of an independent life in general.

The camp shift program includes training in safe movement in a wheelchair, overcoming obstacles, trainings, as well as competitions in adaptive sports. AND, of course, relaxation and communication in nature. During the first practical lesson, the participants learned, falling from the stroller, then go up on your own.

A camp for people with disabilities has already worked in the region since 13 by 25 July 2018 year at the sports base "Triathlon". One of the organizers of the shift was the Nizhny Novgorod regional public organization of disabled people "Invatur". Тренировки в лагере проходили трижды в день по 1,5 hours daily.

The head of the electoral commission of the Nizhny Novgorod region attended an open training session at a sports and rehabilitation camp for people with disabilities as a guest of honor.

- "Invatur" is our constant partner, our advisor. Activists from the organization constantly tell us, where there are problems - there are no ramps or special lifts, too high angle of inclination of these very ramps - together with the heads of municipal districts we are trying to solve these problems. That is why my colleagues and I are here today.,

- said Oksana Kislitsyna.

At that time, she served as chairman of the election commission of the Nizhny Novgorod region, on which she was subsequently replaced by Margarita Krasilevskaya. Oksana Kislitsyna herself became the ombudsman for human rights in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
