A round table on the issues of accessibility of medical services for people with disabilities and other groups of the population with disabilities was held 19 August 2022 years in Nizhny Novgorod. The event was organized by the Ministry of Health of the Nizhny Novgorod Region at the initiative of the NROOI “Invatur”.
Deputy Minister Tatyana Kovalenko noted, that accessibility issues are under special control, taken into account during the overhaul of polyclinics, the availability of adapted medical equipment was monitored, to refer people with mobility restrictions to the most accessible health care facilities.
The issue of the timing and availability of medical examinations when referring to a medical and social examination was discussed. Anna Smirnova, Head of the Main Bureau of Medical and Social Expertise for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, spoke about the list of necessary examinations.
In his speech, the Vice-Chairman of the NROOI “Invatur” Svetlana Kupolova spoke about those difficulties, faced by patients with limited mobility, proposed to make better use of available opportunities, inform about them.
Chairman NROOI “Invatur” offered the assistance of the organization's experts in the acceptance of reconstructed facilities, consultation of specialists of medical institutions.
