On the basis of the Nizhny Novgorod Provincial College and three other institutions of secondary vocational education in Nizhny Novgorod, the regional stage of the professional skills championship for people with disabilities “Abilimpix” was held. This was reported by the Ministry of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
“Today one of the most important tasks of education is to ensure access to education for all citizens of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The championship gives you the opportunity to believe in yourself, demonstrate your professional skills and competencies. We will try to expand the number of competencies in the future, to reach as many people as possible who want to participate", – stated the Minister of Education of the region Sergei Naumov, addressing the competition participants.
Abilympics is held according to the Olympic system and includes competitions in 45 professions, in demand on the labor market. The main goal of the National Championship of Professional Excellence for People with Disabilities “Abilimpix” is to promote the development of professional inclusion of students, graduates and young professionals with disabilities.
As stated by the chairman of the public organization “Invatur” Andrey Bulanov, vocational guidance should begin as early as possible: “It is necessary to actively involve children in the life of the school, even if the person is homeschooled, it is necessary that he participate in the affairs of his educational institution".
Participated in the regional championship 44 participant from the Nizhny Novgorod region. The winners of the championship will represent the region at the national level.
The regional championship was held in the following competencies:
– For students and young professionals: web design (5 participants);- database administration (5 participants); economics and accounting (3 participant); elementary school teacher (3 participant); masseur (12 participants).
– For schoolchildren: pearl braiding (6 participants); wood carving (5 participants); light engineering (5 participants).
The work of competency platforms was organized on the basis of four educational organizations in Nizhny Novgorod: "Nizhny Novgorod Provincial College", "Nizhny Novgorod Medical College", "Center for the Development of Creativity of Children and Youth of the Nizhny Novgorod Region", "Boarding School No. 92".
