More 50 athletes with disabilities 10 regions of Russia fought for the Cup of the Nizhny Novgorod region in trail orienteering among athletes with a lesion of the musculoskeletal system as part of the Oksky ParaFest festival in Dzerzhinsk. The first place was taken by the master of sports, representative of the Nizhny Novgorod team "Invatur" Ivan Konovalov.
The competitions were held with the support of the Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, NRPO "Sports Federation of Persons with PAD", MBU secondary school "Magnetic Arrow". The organizer was the Nizhny Novgorod public organization of the disabled "Invatur", working on the project "Integral", aimed at involving people with disabilities in the active life of society using innovative technologies, including means of adaptive sports. “Our para-athletes were unable to participate in many international trail orienteering competitions this year., therefore, the regional competitions held are a great opportunity to test your strength, show the will to win", – noted the master of sports, member of the Russian national trail orienteering team Lyubov Kozina.
According to the organizers, trail orienteering is not about speed, and the ability to work with a map, think analytically, making a decision. This dynamic and interesting sport has been actively developing in recent years in the Nizhny Novgorod region.. The initiator is the public organization of the disabled "Invatur".
