Boccia is developing in the Nizhny Novgorod region with 2012 of the year. 2016 year, on the initiative of the NROOI "Invatur", the first regional competitions were held. During this time, the number of regularly trained para-athletes has increased.,
their level of training. The national team of the Nizhny Novgorod region goes to the competitions of the All-Russian level. This is facilitated by the increase in the number of objects., accessible to athletes with reduced mobility, attention of the Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod region, administrations of municipalities to the problem of adaptive sports development. An important role is played by the activity of people with disabilities themselves and public organizations.
Competitions were held in different classes, into which athletes are divided depending on the significance of physical limitations. Boccia allows people with disabilities with the most severe disabilities to play sports, actively affects the physical development and state of the body of the players, develops agility, reaction, endurance, coordination of movements, eye and communication skills. A team will be formed from the number of winners and prize-winners in the individual standings, which will defend the honor of the Nizhny Novgorod region at all-Russian competitions.
