From ramps to transport: the living conditions of disabled people in Nizhny Novgorod were revised
Execution of equipment availability plans 439 objects in the region remains unknown.

Parking lots have been revised accordingly, shopping centers and public transport.
– According to statistics in Russia 10 percent of the population – these are people with disabilities. Hence the number of parking places for people with limited mobility, – explained Svetlana in the parking lot at one of the shopping centers.
Having failed to get into several minibuses, but after taking social buses, wheelchair invalid made the main conclusion: “People are often very helpful. This is not their responsibility., but they respond!”
At the same time, in general, the creation of conditions for an accessible environment for people with disabilities requires, according to experts, much more systematic and demanding approach. for example, it is still not known, what happened to the declared 2016 on the initiative of the regional Public Chamber, plans to create a special register of priority facilities for their equipment in the interests of accessibility for people with disabilities. The register entered then 439 objects, however, have the necessary work been done on them, remains unknown.
At the same time, the disabled themselves, including children, as well as families, in which there are people with disabilities, face multiple challenges – starting with the lack of ramps in apartment buildings.
