The Nizhny Novgorod Regional Electoral Committee signed an agreement on cooperation with a public organization of the disabled “Invatur”
Document signed 5 may, on International Day for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, reported in the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Electoral Committee.
Chairman of the Electoral Commission of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Margarita Krasilevskaya thanked the organization “Invatur” for many years of cooperation in various fields, including information and explanatory activities among voters, having a disability, inspection of polling stations for accessibility for people with disabilities, conducting training seminars for members of election commissions and much more.
“Most important for voters with disabilities – be able to go to the polling station, get information about candidates in an accessible format. And we do our best for it. Agreement signing – this is a form of consolidation of our long-term cooperation”, – отметила Маргарита Красилевская.
The Electoral Commission of the Nizhny Novgorod Region in cooperation with public organizations of the disabled, local self-government bodies will continue to work to ensure the voting rights of persons with disabilities, including the accessibility of polling stations.
“It should be noted, that polling stations in the Nizhny Novgorod region are becoming more accessible, disabled people can use the "social taxi". Suffrage has a social component, therefore, it is important for every person to ensure the opportunity to personally participate in elections”, – said the chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod regional public organization of the disabled “Invatur” Andrey Bulanov.
