A grandiose sports festival took place in Cheboksary - the festival of cities of the Volga region “Mega Boccia”. Athletes with disabilities from Saratov took part in it, Samara, Ulyanovsk, Republic of Tatarstan. Residents of Nizhny Novgorod - representatives of the capital of the Volga region - also went to the start, as well as Dzerzhinsk and Trans-Volga region.
Boccia - Paralympic sport. Its uniqueness is, that it can be practiced by people with serious musculoskeletal disorders, wheelchair bound, for which other sports are not available.
Our boccia fans performed well at the festival and took a number of prizes. Nizhny Novgorod residents Svetlana Potylitsyna distinguished themselves in the BC2 class (3-is a place) and Nikolai Volgin (4-is). Ivan Konovalov, another resident of the Volga region capital, received silver in the BC3 class. At Andrey Sapelkin's (he is also from the regional center) – 2nd place in class BC4, Zavolzhanka Yulia Lebedeva – 3rd. Igor Smirnov has proven himself in Open Class - open class (Volga region) – 1st place, Sergey Lebedev (Dzerzhinsk) - It's 2, Tatyana Rusyaeva (Dzerzhinsk) - It's 3.
