Students of the Higher School of Social Sciences of NSLU actively cooperate with the NGO “Invatur” as part of the implementation of the “Service-Learning” program and are developing tourist routes for people with disabilities.
Chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod regional public organization for cultural and social-labor rehabilitation of disabled people with support and wheelchair users “Invatur” Andrey Bulanov held several meetings with first-year students of the Higher School of Social Sciences of the NSLU.
During the classes, students were told about the specifics of working with people with disabilities, explained the concept of “inclusive tourism” and gave the task to develop tourist routes for people with disabilities.
Thus, NSLU students learned about the work of the organization, its goals and received technical assignments as part of the implementation of the “Service Learning” program - advertising brochures for NGOs.
The students themselves note, that they previously did not know about the existence of such organizations and after meeting the NGO “Invatur” they felt a desire to help people with disabilities and develop social projects under the guidance of one of the teachers of the discipline “Service Learning” - an assistant at the Department of Philosophy, Public Communications and Tourism Maria Voronkova Higher School of Social Sciences.
