NROOI specialists “Invatur” took part in a public audit of compliance with legislation in the field of protecting the rights of people with disabilities to an accessible environment on the embankment of Fedorovsky city. n. Novgorod, carried out 08 November 2022 g. on the initiative of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The event was also attended by representatives of the Administration of the city of Nizhny Novgorod, traffic police, VOI.
Among the shortcomings, noted by experts: lack of disabled parking, curb ramps at pedestrian crossings, information signs.
Participating in the event Chairman of NOO LLC “All-Russian Society of Disabled People” Eduard Zhitukhin noted, that the opinion of public organizations of the disabled must be taken into account when reconstructing public spaces.
Based on the results of the audit, recommendations were made.
