Yesterday, 25 July 2024 year a basketball center opened in Nizhny Novgorod Plays.Center.
The opening of the center was an important step in the development of inclusive sports in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
Dmitry Kabaylo came to the opening, Minister of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Mikhail Puchkov, Minister of Education and Science of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Ilya Khayretdinov, Chairman of the Basketball Federation of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
– I was at the opening yesterday. Convenient center, modern. Children in wheelchairs will also train there.. Hopefully, that a team of wheelchair basketball players will gather and they will conquer not only regional competitions, but also all-Russian. At least, our guys really want to achieve success in basketball, – Andrey Bulanov, chairman of NROOI “Invatur”.
It is worth noting, that a trial training session for wheelchair basketball took place just a month ago, and there the guys showed themselves as worthy athletes in this sport.
