Accessibility of medical facilities

Nadezhda lives with her husband in Nizhny Novgorod, moves in a wheelchair. In February of this year, a significant event happened in their family - their daughter Anastasia was born. Difficulties arose with the mother's routine examination by the doctor: in a pandemic, reception is limited, Besides, Nadezhda lives on the second floor of a building without an elevator. With the assistance of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Nizhny Novgorod region, a doctor's appointment was organized in the antenatal clinic No. 5, where Nadezhda was taken by the social support service of the Nizhny Novgorod regional public organization of disabled people "Invatur". The service was created within the framework of the "Mobilization" project, implemented jointly with the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Nizhny Novgorod Region with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund. The grant funded a car with a lift to transport people with disabilities.
Accessibility of healthcare facilities is a critical issue. At the initiative of our organization, there are two women's clinics in the city, including No. 5 on the Moscow highway 35, equipped for patients, wheelchair users, installed chairs with a lift.
