Athlete's Day. VGTRK

The Nizhny Novgorod public organization of disabled people "Invatur" held athletics competitions

Sonya Tuzhilkina was born without one forearm. She herself speaks modestly, that after school he likes to just sit on his phone at home. but, Sonya's mom has a different opinion. According to her, My daughter really doesn’t like to sit still, she is a natural athlete, who loves tennis very much, and also darts.

Sofia Tuzhilkina – Participant in athletics competitions among people with musculoskeletal disorders: I really like sports. My favorite thing to do is tennis. (And why?) Because you can make new acquaintances, when you play with someone. Go to the swimming pool, for all kinds of training. (Do you like it?) Yes!

At athletics competitions for athletes with disabilities in darts, Sonya was the strongest. In total, each of the athletes had to show themselves in six disciplines – such, as – shooting, shot throw, run on 60 and 500 meters. Who had a hard time running? – sat in wheelchairs and drove at speed through a specially marked labyrinth.

Andrey Bulanov, Head of NROOI “Invatur”: There are also those here, who uses wheelchairs due to some kind of injury, due to a congenital disease. There are those, who have difficulty walking. This is our main target audience, they compete, do it in different classes. As you see, this does not prevent them from living actively, play sports and make friends.

Ivan Konovalov – Organizer and chief judge of the competition: I also understand further movement as an athlete, that I won’t be able to develop myself there, like an athlete. To do this, we advise what is the best thing to do. There are different sports with a high level of defeat, where guys can reveal themselves as athletes. This is another plus of such events, that give impetus to sports.

Wheelchair tennis and tennis – also in the competition program. Counts, that this is the sport with the shortest period of time from the first lesson to the first competition. All thanks to school “outdoor tennis”, which is also in Nizhny Novgorod. That's where the kids play sports., and undergo rehabilitation from their injuries.

Elena Volgina – Coach of an open tennis school for people with musculoskeletal disorders: There are two classes: “open” and “square”. In class “open”, as long as I remember, that's enough, that you're missing part of your foot and that's it, you're already coming. Only one condition – wheelchair tennis, only for wheelchairs. Guys, who have a defeat “square”- this is when all four limbs are affected. There with plastic or abnormalities in the limbs, but only in all four.

The sports festival was held at the Trud stadium. A total of twenty-seven people took to the start line.. Valentina Pribilova was the best in all disciplines. She received a ticket to Sochi for the All-Russian festival of culture and sports “ParaArt”.
