The project is aimed at attracting people with disabilities to a healthy and active lifestyle using the methods of adaptive motor recreation.
An important component of adaptive physical culture is adaptive motor recreation., to meet the needs of a person with a disability in recreation, entertainment, interesting leisure activities, change of activity, getting pleasure, in communication.
The content of adaptive motor recreation is aimed at activating, maintaining or restoring physical strength, spent by a disabled person during any type of activity (labour, studies, sports, etc.), for the prevention of fatigue, entertainment, interesting pastime and general health improvement, improvement in condition, increased resilience through pleasure or enjoyment. Characteristic features are the freedom to choose means and partners, switching to other activities, breadth of contacts, self-management, play activity, the pleasure of movement.
In the current system of rehabilitation, this area is given insufficient attention., emphasis is placed on medical methods, physiotherapy exercises, massage, physiotherapy.
However, for a person, having difficulty moving, the negative aspects of living in the city can be compensated by staying in a natural environment. Under the influence of natural factors, some disturbed processes in the human body are restored. Heals the very stay in the forest, by the river, communication with other team members, switching to a new activity, relaxation, enjoyment of physical activity.
During the pandemic, gyms, the pools were closed, at the same time, the objective need for physical activity in the open air has increased, Outdoors, in recreational areas, Where is it easier to maintain social distance?.
The Nizhny Novgorod region has a huge potential for the development of adaptive motor recreation: many rivers and lakes, unique natural objects, parks, squares, but their wider use is possible. It is necessary to introduce modern types of adaptive motor recreation: barrel, trail orientation, laser biathlon, strollers with bike attachments. Especially important is the development of aquatic species: raft racing in inclusive teams, kayak dam, SUP boards.
However, there are a number of barriers to this:
– lack of surveyed routes, accessible for people with limited mobility.
– lack of adapted inventory, which can be used by people with significant disabilities
– insufficient number of specialists, skilled in working with people with disabilities
– lack of information among people with disabilities and their close circle about the existing opportunities for adaptive motor recreation
– limited number of offered activities
To overcome these barriers, the efforts of the authorities are united., public organizations, to involve in this indifferent citizens, volunteers.
