The project aims to protect the rights of people with disabilities to access social infrastructure facilities, quality services.
The “Accessible Lawyer” service was created to provide legal assistance to people with disabilities and their families on the protection of rights and freedoms, ensuring unhindered access to quality social services. Particular attention was paid to ensuring the accessibility of residential premises, in which people with disabilities live. In humans, recently disabled, legal issues are particularly acute. The project provided for the provision “Early legal aid” directly in the hospital. Group sessions were conducted by lawyers with disabilities. According to doctors, This technology has proven to be highly effective.. A library of standard solutions for individual elements of social facilities has been created and placed in the free Internet access, ensuring the implementation of the right of access for people with limited mobility. Information is presented in the form of panoramic 3D images. Activists with disabilities were trained to inspect facilities for accessibility, compiling appeals and complaints, assert their rights. The experience of the project implementation was presented at the interregional conference “accessible Environment – freedom of movement”, attended by government officials, prosecutors, regional human rights ombudsmen, social workers, activists of public organizations. Interaction with legal clinics of higher educational institutions of the Nizhny Novgorod region was organized, students were trained in the specifics of working to protect the rights of people with disabilities. To participate in the competition of social videos, inclusive creative teams were formed from among students and activists of organizations of the disabled. The winning videos were promoted through social media, were shown on street screens and in transport.
More than 225 man, 145 persons with disabilities and members of their families were provided with legal assistance free of charge. 225 people took part in educational activities. Social and legal services received 60 man
The feature of the project is, that almost all team members are people with disabilities, and the theme of the project is of vital importance to them.
