It has been raining almost without stopping since the registration of the participants in the competition., periodically turning into torrential …. Rare rays made their way, but only for seconds. “But you can't scare us off so easily.”

Every year, both athletes and beginners are becoming increasingly interested in this unusual sport.. 24 on april in the renewed "Park of Culture and Leisure" in the city of Dzerzhinsk, an orienteering competition was held – accurate orientation (Trail-O). In the Championship and the Championship of the Nizhny Novgorod region in the sports of persons with an ODA (orienteering – accurate orientation) took part 46 athletes from the Nizhny Novgorod region. Before the competition, everyone trained at a specially prepared training model distance. For the first time in Trail-O competitions, two scoring systems were used to calculate and record the correct answers and time at points:

-electronic chips and stations;

– answer cards and punch cards.

Competitions were held in three competitive classes for athletes with and without disabilities among men and women: O1 – O3 – athletes with PAD moving in wheelchairs; O4 – O6 – athletes with PAD moving without wheelchairs;

O-class – open class.

Has been played 18 sets of medals.

Competitions became possible thanks to the distance author: Dulatova to Alexander Rafaelevich – Coach of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Paralympic Team in Orienteering, support of the Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the management of the Municipal budgetary institution "Sports School" Magnetic Arrow "and the management of the NROOI" INVATUR ".

Trail-O (Trail Orienteering) – sport, where the participants overcome during the control time (usually in a given sequence) distance, consisting of items, on each of which several prisms are located within sight (flags). Participants must identify and record, which of these prisms (flags) on the ground corresponds to the indicated point on the map and the given legend (possibly, and no).

cards, eye detection and control of distance on the ground, the ability to accurately take the azimuth to the object, knowledge of work techniques at the checkpoint, as well as knowledge of conventional signs of sports maps and legends of checkpoints. In trail orienteering, maps are used with an enlarged scale and a terrain with a large number of roads and trails is selected, wheelchair accessible. Orienteering is a sport accessible to everyone, it enables athletes with physical disabilities

opportunities to participate in competitions on an equal footing with all. Trail-O can be used in regular training to improve map skills and map reading accuracy, athletes of all types of orienteering.
